The paper intends to investigate and describe the philosophicalissue of freedom in Marx's thought. It shows freedom as a continuingmatter that comes to a more and more sophisticated and coherentexposition throughout Manc's production. It is revealed that the conditionswhich enable capital to be confirmed as the unlimited principie of socialsynthesis are the disappearance of substantial freedom at the explicitdiscourse's levei and the consequent fulfillment of non-freedom; meanwhile,an appearance, an abstract freedom is supported. This negative criticismallows Marx's theory of freedom to be contemporary and fecund up to thepresent, as far as it furnishes criticai thinking with the elements to putforward innovative praxes with a qualitative potential which challengesrelations commodified by capitalist reason.
