Demanded abilities of the librarians front to the new technologies of information in university libraries

The general objective of this research was to identify the abilities demanded to the librarians in view of the implantation of technologies of information in University Libraries. The study of the phenomenon it occurred by means of the study of cases (multicases), predominantly qualitative, with the collection of primary data (interviews and comment) and secondary (documents). The results demonstrate that it had decurrent impacts of the introduction of information technologies, but that the interviewed ones had not verified bigger impacts in result of the preparation for the use of the technologies. How much the demand of abilities that must be developed with the introduction of new technologies of the information, the interviewed librarians had detached the following ones: work in team, to know to manage human resources, to be dynamic, to share information, to have a set of abilities, aptitudes, attitudes and behaviors to place in practical everything what one knows with efficiency and effectiveness.Downloads
