The infrastructure in scientific information and Information Science in the former Soviet Union (1917-1991)

Analysis of the history and development of the infrastructure in Scientific information in the former Soviet Union and Russia, where it will be done a study on the main organs, institutes and publications on Informatics / Information Science in the USSR. The study period extends from the rise of the Bolshevik party in Russia in November 1917, through development of information science in the country, in the decades from 1950 to 1970, until the dissolution of the Soviet Union in December 1991, and also some information on the area after that date. In this analysis, it will be discussed institutions like, for example, the State Institute of Scientific and Technical Information (Viniti), and other aspects related to the provision of services and products, development of information, training, related to the regular secondary Informatics / Information Science in the country and technical-scientific events occurring both in the Soviet Union and in the international context.
