Abstract

The electric motor of Michael Faraday (1791-1867) is the forerunner of today electric motors and an interesting device to introduce the subject of electric motors. A previous study reported an assembly of this motor better suited to informal educational settings, with two variants: one with moving sod and fixed magnet and another hewing a fixed sod with moving magnet. We present a model based on the first variant, with size and weight for suitable transport and classroom use with standard 127 V input.
