The wonderful expedition of Stela’s talk

Abstract

 This article discusses the trajectory of the Stela do Patrocínio’s talks – born in Rio de Janeiro, schizophrenic, who was hospitalized in a psychiatric hospital for thirty years – free in the space, in the atmosphere, since leaving her origins to win back the empty space, now on stage, materialized by Georgette Fadel and Lincoln Antonio in the play Entrevista com Stela do Patrocínio (Interview with Stela do Patrocínio). The fundamental consultation bases to construct this article were: the book “Reino dos bichos e dos animais é o meu nome” in which Viviane Mosé organized the speeches and poems of Stela; the play above mentioned; interviews alive, and by electronic mail with artists involved in the play. The article demonstrates care and lightness given to the scene bringing as content the speech of a schizophrenic. It also theoretically discusses the staging type chosen by the artists for the play.
