This study aims to present and discuss the findings of a mapping carried out that has as its scope scientific research that deals with the philosophical, epistemological, ethical and political aspects of the Environmental Education field of knowledge. The search for productions was taken in five scientific search engines. This documentary research uses two instruments founded in Michel Foucault's works – discursive formations and truth. We perceive the recurrence of critical theorizing in greater numbers. Of the 96 papers found, 70 announce the use of critical theory input. We understand that the sets of difference between recurrent theorizations in the field produce specific ways of explaining, understanding and fabricating the field of Environmental Education knowledge.
