Os objetivos de uma universidade feminina e as percepções dos professores

A pesquisa avalia a educação em uma universidade feminina nos Estados Unidos no que diz respeito a como o ambiente oferece benefícios para as mulheres, benefícios estes não encontrados nas universidades com alunos de ambos os sexos. Todos os professores foram entrevistados sobre sua compreensão dos objetivos educacionais da universidade, seu interesse pelas novas pesquisas sobre a mulher, e suas percepções das diferenças intelectuais entre alunos e alunas. Ainda que os professores aceitem os objetivos que dizem respeito à educação para mulheres, eles subestimam a capacidade e as realizações das alunas. Eles tendem a estereotipar as alunas da mesma forma que a sociedade maior, falham em entender os dilemas das mulheres universitárias hoje em dia, e em geral não estão informados sobre as novas pesquisas e estudos sobre a mulher.
