Information professionals are challenged to work with the speed imposed both by the generation of information and data, as well as by the variety of sources in which they are found, thus their performance is fundamental in seeking the synergy between the needs of Managers and the expertise of computer professionals. In this scenario, the objective of this work is to identify and discuss the intersection between the functions performed by administrators (managers), computer scientists and information professionals in Big Data Analytics environments. The methodology used is of a qualitative nature, being the exploratory research, since, starting from the studies of Information Science, Information Professional and Big Data, to establish a link between these concepts. As a result, the performance of the information professional is demonstrated and described in all phases of data analysis. There was an intersection between the proposal of relationship between the actors "administrator", "information professional" and "computer professional", with the so-called data scientist, where due to the different skills required of the scientist, it is concluded that both the information professional and the computer professional can specialize in this area, since, working in different but complementary fields, will provide information in scenarios of Big Data helping decision making and adding values to the organizations.
