On modernist social sciences’ understanding of poverty and the role of poverty experts in the “conduct of conduct” of human subjects: a critique

Abstract

The purpose of my paper is to show that modernist social sciences have been directly involved in the construction and reproduction of poverty, and in the "conduct of conduct" of the scientifically labeled poor or the produced and reproduced "object" of poverty experts.

I am an Auxiliary Professor of Sociology in the Department of Culture and Communication of Drexel University, Philadelphia -USA. While I teach regular lower and upper level courses in Sociology, my interests are Post-Structuralism and Foucault's analytical work
