ENTRE A CRISE E A CRIAÇÃO: O ACOMPANHAMENTO TERAPÊUTICO E A ARTE COMO CUIDADO LIBERTÁRIO Between Crisis and Creation: Therapeutic Accompaniment and Art as Liberatory Care

Abstract

This article presents an experience report on Therapeutic Accompaniment (A.T.) as a clinical practice grounded in relational encounters, bonding, and everyday life. Based on the accompaniment of a young woman diagnosed with schizophrenia and global developmental delay, the study reflects on the effects of affection, art, and care in freedom on the reconstruction of subjectivity and autonomy. The narrative highlights the power of A.T. as an ethical and aesthetic device that opposes logics of control and institutionalization, promoting community-based care and sustaining freedom as a therapeutic principle. Inspired by the conceptions of Nise da Silveira, the work discusses the importance of sensitive presence and affect as catalysts that foster creativity, symbolic expression, and the production of meaning. The study concludes that therapeutic accompaniment can transform trajectories marked by chronicity into experiences of authorship and protagonism, reaffirming care in freedom as a central axis of the Brazilian Psychiatric Reform.
