Coexistence Centers and Production of life for a Culture of Care

Abstract

This review focuses on the book “Community Centers: enhancing life through arts, culture, and work, organized by Thiago Benedito Livramento Melício and Ariadna Patricia Estevez Alvarez, and published in 2021. The purpose of this review is to present theoretical and practical reflections based on a critical analysis of the aforementioned book. The method used included four stages: (1) reading the book, (2) the construction of a brief summary of its content, (3) the critical analysis of the production, and (4) the theoretical-practical formulation carried out by the reviewer. Without intending to exhaust the themes addressed in the book, we seek to expose in a personal and subjective way our perspective on the work, having as a result  theoretical-reflective process notes exposing the main contributions of the as well as of the Centers for Coexistence to Mental Health and to the promotion of a culture of care.
