Abstract

Assessing the external environment is an important component of organizations' survival and to have success. Unfortunately, a huge amount of information must be collected and processed in order to obtain a thorough and comprehensive representation of the environment. Thus, public and private organizations confront with the necessity of identification andgrouping information that, when adequately storage, can allow its rescue to formatted strategic reports of industry evolutions, trend and alternative scenery to disclose environment signals and industry opportunities. This paper outlines a conceptual proposition to design a strategic information system, its implementation and benefits that can be obtained to different kind of organization with low implementation cost.
