Communications in events of the information science area: the lecturers' of the graduate courses contribution

Provides an analysis concerning, communications presented by the lecturers of the Information Science Graduate Courses in the three national main events in the area: Congresso Brasileiro de Biblioteconomia e Documentação (CBBD), Seminário Nacional de Bibliotecas Universitárias (SNBU), and Encontro da Associação Nacional de Pesquisa e Pós Graduação em Ciência da Informação (ENANCIB). Data were obtained from the data base of events in information science hosted and managed by the Núcleo de Produção Científica (NPC/ECA/USP). The following variables were analyzed: number of the communications presented, authorship (single and multiple) and subject (classified according to the research themes schedules of the graduate courses). 114 lecturers acting in the nine GC programs, who participated in the three events were identified, presenting a total of 226 communications. The majority papers, 107, was presented in the ENANCIB, following by 72 communications presented to CBBD, and 47 presented to the SNBU. Concerning the authorship, the results showed that most of the papers (71,7%) were presented in collaboration, confirming a global tendency in the field. A research theme in focus could also be observed (23 papers) named “information flux”. A focus on the theme “information and society” could be observed. The thematic dispersion in the production of the communications (papers) was observed, when the thematic limits of the research lines for the distribution of the GC lecturers were considered.Downloads
