Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the use of the features of the Open Journal Systems (OJS) in the roles of System Administrator, Managing Editor, Editor and Section Editor. The specifics objectives of data collection were: identify de personal and professional users profile of OJS editors and collect suggestions of the features that could be developed for de system. To achieve this objective was conducted a descriptive survey with 153 Editors. The survey instrument was developed by the authors based on the existing features in OJS. The data collection was made possible via e-mail with use of a search site. The most relevant results showed that 20% of the users of the papers analyzed, unaware the functionality of the system and 31% do not use important features in the editing process. This research of applied nature, provides relevant data for training development about the OJS.
