Abstract

The objective of this work is to contribute to the understanding of the meaning of the category praxis in critical theory, principally in the way it is applied to some of the works of Adorno and Horkheimer. It discusses the possible relationships of continuity and rupture between Marx understandings and those of these authors. It searches to analyze the reasons for an approach more centered on the superstructure made by Adorno and Horkheimer, as well as to comment on the consequences of this approach in the development of the category praxis. Finally, through a discussion, the text also aims at contributing to avoid an idealistic understanding of the praxis category.
