This paper analyzes the sport phenomenon as part of the capitalist society that reinforces the principle of performance (Marcuse) and expands it beyond the tracks and courts. To this aim, the paper focuses on three aspects: 1) the supposed formal equality of chances; 2) The technical incorporation that transforms the body into a trainable object and 3) The subject's relationship with the own body in which it is necessary to overcome pain to obtain income. The trajectory of a Paralympic athlete investigated during the preparation for the 2016 Games and his participation in the competition synthesizes our text. Our results confirm that efficiency is always valid for the sports system, so that making a body classified as deficient efficient is the maximum radicalization of the performance principle. Thus, we agree with Theodor W. Adorno's assertion when he states that we live in a sporting society based on the ideology of sport, exporting records, indexes, numbers, infinite progress, etc., placing itself as a model structure for contemporary bodies.
