Capacidades Dinámicas y Desempeño en Industrias Manufactureras de Baja Tecnología: El Papel de las Capacidades Innovadora, Absortiva y Adaptativa

Objetivo: Este estudio examina los efectos diferenciados de las capacidades innovadora, absortiva y adaptativa sobre el desempeño organizacional e innovador en industrias manufactureras de baja tecnología. Aunque las capacidades dinámicas suelen asociarse con un desempeño superior, existe evidencia limitada sobre cómo sus distintas dimensiones contribuyen a los resultados empresariales en contextos de baja intensidad tecnológica. Metodología: La investigación se realizó mediante una encuesta aplicada a 41 empresas brasileñas de los sectores de la madera y del mueble. Los datos fueron analizados mediante Modelado de Ecuaciones Estructurales por Mínimos Cuadrados Parciales (PLS-SEM). Resultados: Los hallazgos revelan efectos heterogéneos entre las capacidades dinámicas. La capacidad innovadora influyó positivamente en los desempeños de mercado, financiero e innovador, siendo la dimensión más influyente. La capacidad absortiva presentó efectos positivos sobre los desempeños de mercado y financiero, pero no mostró influencia significativa sobre el desempeño innovador. Contrariamente a las expectativas teóricas, la capacidad adaptativa no generó efectos positivos y exhibió relaciones negativas con los desempeños de mercado y financiero. Contribuciones teóricas: Los resultados demuestran que las capacidades dinámicas no contribuyen de manera uniforme al desempeño organizacional en industrias manufactureras de baja tecnología. Los hallazgos sugieren que la efectividad de estas capacidades depende del contexto y destacan la capacidad innovadora como el recurso estratégico más relevante en entornos industriales maduros y de menor intensidad tecnológica. Contribuciones para la gestión: Los resultados indican que los gestores deben priorizar el fortalecimiento de las capacidades innovadora y absortiva, ya que generan mayores beneficios organizacionales.
