Main Article Content
Abstract
Goal: in highly competitive and dynamic markets, information becomes a strategic resource that needs to be properly managed by all types of organizations. Based on this scenario and on the assumption that, in an organizational context, information management and organizational memory are concepts that must be treated in a related way, this work proposes to analyze the scientific articles available in the Reference Database of Periodical Articles in Information Science (Base de Dados Referenciais de Artigos de Periódicos em Ciência da Informação - BRAPCI) and the platform Dialnet, data base of scientific production with the objective of verifying how publications dedicated to information management and organizational memory have highlighted the relationship between these concepts in the last 20 years in Brazil and in Ibero-America.
Design|Methodology|Approach: since the research context refers to national and iberoamerican publications in the area of Information Science, this study presents as a methodological basis the bibliographic research in the Reference Database of Journal Articles in Information Science (Base de Dados Referenciais de Artigos de Periódicos em Ciência da Informação - BRAPCI) and in the platform Dialnet.
Results: the results demonstrate irregularity and low density of intellectual production in the area, demonstrating that information management and organizational memory are not considered in a related way, which can lead to relevant informational losses which, in turn, can cause considerable losses to organizations.
Originality|Value: the originality of the study lies in demonstrating the situation of national and iberoamerican scientific research that relates information management with organizational memory in the last 20 years.
