Anti-gender crusade in Chile: rejection of the law on sex education and affectivity

This research aims to identify and characterize anti-gender discourses in the arguments expressed against Bill 11710-04 regarding sex education and affectivity, during the parliamentary session in the Chamber of Deputies of Chile. The transcription of the 13 speeches against the bill was subjected to a discourse analysis focused on the identification of Interpretative Repertoires, seeking to establish the presence or absence of rhetorical and meaning patterns concordant with global neoconservative anti-rights and anti-gender discourses. The results reveal a transversal presence of repertoires that align with those observed in the international literature on anti-gender discourses, with variations and nuances specific to local actors.
