Abstract

This paper presents the results of a research about the collections of 63 school libraries in the city of Belo Horizonte-State of Minas Gerais, Brazil. The data, obtained through questionnaire, show that the average number of books per student is 3,56. Few libraries have access to internet. In most of the libraries when necessary the students are guided to use the resources of local libraries, especially the State Central Library. Many of the respondents believe that their library collection is regular or good.
