Abstract

Goal: this article presents an analysis of the concept of metaverse and its use as a strategy in education. The metaverse represents a relevant space for educational innovation, considering cultural transformations and the massive use of games and electronic devices by children and young people. In this context, the use of metaphors and narratives emerges as constituent elements of virtual worlds. It aims to analyze the concept of metaverse, recognize it as a knowledge media ecosystem and explore the possibilities of using virtual worlds in education. Design½ Methodology½ Approach: This study is bibliographical and interpretative in nature, based on the collection and analysis of existing information from secondary sources, such as books and scientific articles; on the other hand, the interpretative nature focuses on the analysis and understanding of the data collected from a critical perspective, seeking to generate new interpretations or perceptions on the subject. Results: the study's main contribution lies in demonstrating how these narrative and metaphorical elements, applied in virtual environments, can enrich the educational experience, creating an environment conducive to creativity, engagement and the co-creation of knowledge.. Originality½ Value: the originality of this research lies in exploring the metaverse not only as a technological environment, but as a knowledge media ecosystem, integrating cognitive elements such as metaphors and narratives into the educational context.
