Workers, politics and the 1930 Revolution in Ilhéus, Bahia

The objective of this article is to analyze the political disputes before and after the Revolution of 1930, having as its object of study the relations between workers, workers' associations and party leaders in Ilhéus, Bahia. The transition from the First to the Second Republic was marked by a significant movement of the oligarchies of Ilhéus around the electoral clashes for president and the turbulence that led to the seizure of power by the Liberal Alliance. This political dynamic had repercussions on the way in which the different parties and authorities sought.
