Resumen

Este artigo apresenta as contribuições ao dossiê especial sobre história ambiental e do trabalho. Ele explora as relações entre os campos da história do trabalho e da história ambiental, tanto histórica quanto tematicamente, e situa as contribuições do dossiê dentro desse contexto historiográfico mais amplo, inserindo-as em um diálogo em constante evolução na fronteira entre os campos, que se estende por várias décadas. Essa conversa fecunda incluiu alguns pioneiros da história ambiental.

Thomas D. Rogers, Emory University

Thomas D. Rogers es profesor de Historia en la Universidad Emory, con especial atención a la historia laboral y ambiental brasileña. En estos campos, ha publicado "Las heridas más profundas: Una historia laboral y ambiental del azúcar en el noreste de Brasil" (2010), "Energía agrícola: El problema del etanol en la Revolución Verde brasileña" (2022) y "Etanol: Una historia hemisférica para el futuro de los biocombustibles" (2025), en coautoría con Jeffrey T. Manuel.

Lise Sedrez, Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro

LISE SEDREZ es Profesora Asociada de Historia de las Américas en la Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro. Es coeditora de la serie de libros Latin American Landscapes. Lise es copresidenta de la Sociedad Latinoamericana y Caribeña de Historia Ambiental (2025-2027). Becaria del Rachel Carson Center (2015-2016), entre sus publicaciones recientes se incluyen The Great Convergence: environmental histories of BRICS, con S. Ravi Rajan, y A History of Environmentalism: local struggles, global histories, con Marco Armiero. Es investigadora del CNPq y de Faperj (CNE).
