Abstract

This article hopes to bring some contributions to the debate concerning trends followed by pedagogical books as well as to the understanding of philosophy as a human construction forged in the argumentative realm. The reference for the discussion was a research with twenty philosophy teaching books. From the results the article presents some arguments about two basic teaching proposals: one centered on specific themes and the other centered on authors. In a second moment, it discusses Chaim Perelman´s regressive philosophy as an alternative to the dogmatic philosophical systems. Finally, back to philosophy teaching the article argues how to make this teaching more attractive or more efficient in order to persuade a determined audience, in this case the students of secondary school.
