In this paper we present the pedagogical adaptations of virtual teachers of a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education for a better practice in Distance Education (DE) modality. This text is the result of a qualitative investigation that used online surveys and semi-structured interviews to collect data. Data were analyzed with a theoretical framework for Education, Music Education and Distance Education. The data showed that virtual teaching has technical and technological limitations when compared to classroom education in music, but there’s also potential and advantages in virtual teaching. Three reasons that encourage teachers to make teaching adjustments when they want to make the virtual teaching with better quality were identified: a) changes in the way teacher-student interaction happens, since the service can be more individualized in DE; b) learning required for intensive use of Digital Technologies of Information and Communication (DTIC); c) frequent, intensive and concomitant adoption of multiple media, especially audiovisual media and resources of the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE).
