Abstract

This article discusses aspects related to the contributions of the Italian writer Italo Calvino (1923-1985) to the Translation Studies, through the ideas about intersemiotic translation contained in his epistolary (Lettere 1940-1985 e I libri degli altri: Lettere 1947-1981).

Author Biographies

Andréia Guerini, UFSC

Professor Guerini has a post-doctorate from the Università degli Studi di Padova (2010), and a doctorate in Literature from the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (2001). Since 2002, she has been the editor-in-chief of the journal Cadernos da Tradução (Qualis A1) and, since 2011, of the online journal Appunti Leopardiani, edited in a partnership with Italian researchers. From 2011 on she has worked as a visiting professor at the doctoral programme in Letteratura, Storia della lingua and Italian Philology at the Università per Stranieri di Siena/Itália. Currently, she is the coordinator of the Postgraduate Programme in Translation Studies (2013-2016). She has a position as a professor of the Foreign Languages and Literatures Department from the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina. Florianópolis, Santa Catarina, Brazil.

Tânia Mara Moysés, UFSC

Professor Moysés received a post-doctorate at 2013 from the Postgraduate Programme in Translation Studies (PGET-UFSC), and a doctorate in Literature (2010) at the same institution. She has a graduate degree in Italian Language, Literature, and Linguistics from the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (2005) and another graduate degree in Anglo-Portuguese Language, Literature, and Linguistics from the Faculdade de Filosofia Ciências e Letras in Mandaguari - PR (1975). She is member of the Research Group on Leopardian Studies – UFSC-CNPQ and of the Research Group on Italo Calvino – UNB-UFSC-CNPQ. Florianópolis, Santa Catarina, Brazil
