A brief biography of the German ethnologist Theodor Koch-Grünberg (1872-1924), his relationship with the indigenous people he visited and the ambivalence of these friendly and trusting relationships, indispensable to Koch-Grünberg's ethnological research in order to enrich the ethnographic collections of museums in Germany.
