Abstract

This article analyzes the relationship between the ILO and Latin American countries during the Second World War. During this period, ILO authorities were concerned with maintaining institutional continuity and keeping the organization active. For Latin American countries, it was an opportunity to ensure that the issues they considered priorities were included on the institution's permanent agenda. To analyze the relationships between the parties, we focused our examination on the International Labour Conferences that took place during the war, as these were key moments when representatives gathered and presented their demands.
