Abstract

This paper aims to debate paradigms going beyond the strict
limits of Epistemology or even Gnosiology as part of a broader discussion related to "the spirit of our epoch". It also claims that the paradigmatic shifts and crises we have witnessed within the last few decades point out to a
deeper contemporary philosophical argument and exert an impact on wider cultural and socio-political spheres. Actually, the relevance of the crises surpasses their specialized appeal to a small section of academic or higher education community. Based on these issues, the paper makes some comments on the Brazilian universities nowadays, and finally examine the
paradigms which underlie the criteria recently used by CAPES to evaluate post-graduate courses in Brazil.

Maria Célia Marcondes de Moraes, UFSC - Florianopólis - SC

Graduada em Filosofia pela UFRJ (1973), com mestrado em Filosofia pela UFRJ (1979) e doutorado em Educação pela PUC/RJ (1990). Atualmente trabalha como professora e pesquisadora junto ao programa de pós-graduação da Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina.
