This article analyses Giacomo Leopardi’s reflections on translation, comprised in the first book of his collected letters, edited by F. Brioschi and Patrizia Landi. Seventy eight (78) out of the 484 letters therein address the issue of translation; in them, we find discussion of topics such as: the possibility or impossibility of translating, translator/poet-writer, poet-writer/ translator.Downloads
