About the Journal

Cadernos de Tradução was created in 1996 by professors from the Federal University of Santa Catarina. The journal publishes original articles, reviews, translation reviews, interviews and translated articles. Currently, Cadernos de Tradução is linked to the Graduate Program in Translation Studies at the Federal University of Santa Catarina (PGET-UFSC) and represents a recognized forum for national and international discussion on research in the field of Translation Studies. The journal is indexed in several national and foreign databases, evaluated as A1, in Qualis Capes and classified with Q1 in Scimago Journal & Country Rank by Scopus. Cadernos de Tradução is part of the SciELO Brazil Collection.

The journal's main objective is to publish research results in the field of Translation Studies in Brazil and abroad and to accompany the debate in the area, which is inherently interdisciplinary. It regularly publishes high-quality articles, reviews, and interviews with an effective scientific-academic contribution to Translation Studies. In addition, the criteria adopted for selecting papers are uniqueness, originality, clarity, and relevance to the field.

From 2022 onward, the journal Cadernos de Tradução started to publish in a continuous flow following the principles of open science.

Cadernos de Tradução is exclusively online and open access, not charging any kind of fees for publication.
