The persistence of organized industrial conflict. Strikes in Portugal between 1960 and 2008

In this article, associated with a world project for the study of strikes, we intended to study the strikes in Portugal between 1960 and 2007,historicize them, analyze the mand understand them, looking to explain, historically, in the one hand the permanence of the strike as form of struggle of the working-class in the last 40 years, and secondly, trying to explain the striking peaks, from an analysis point of view that combines both political factors and economic reasons, in the context of what seems to be a structural change in the forms of organization and struggle of the working classes in Portugal, as well as in working-class culture from the industrialization of the 60s onwards. We stressed the differences in the strikes on different political regimes (Dictatorship, Revolution, and Democratic Regime).
