Within the Peronist unions, one of the most paradigmatic was the Asociación Obrera Textil (AOT). Its importance in the union world was undeniable and was due both to the strategic position occupied by industrial activity as their membership. This paper analyzes the dynamics of association through the study of the Fábrica Argentina de Alpargatas, the most important textile establishment of Peronist Argentina. Its relevance is based on structural factors (occupied a strategic place in the activity) and union (influences directly in the general textile negotiations). Their study shows how, at the beginning of Peronism, and beyond state interference, the unions were strengthened and developed from labor mobilization in the workplace. Front of the characterization of traditional Peronist unionsas demobilizing and monolithic, this article highlights how the conflict in its origins and organization were different sides of the same coin.
