Traduzir é produzir: os debates feministas sobre o gênero na França e na Alemanha

Este artigo demonstra a produtividade da tradução tomando como exemplo o debate feminista sobre o gênero na França e na Alemanha. Aborda, primeiro, o gênero na tradução, sua relação com o nacionalismo e o papel exercido pela figura do intraduzível nesse contexto para, em seguida, levantar os potenciais de agência na tradução e, finalmente, reler sob essa ótica os debates feministas sobre o gênero nos dois referidos países. A pesquisa feminista revela-se, então, como local particularmente instrutivo para a compreensão da produtividade da tradução, ainda que essa produtividade não seja automaticamente emancipadora.
